I begin to think about how easy it was....really it was...to adopt our son. Yes, it's a LOT of money. Yes, it's a LOT of paperwork. Yes, it's a lot of hassle and giving on the parts of our family and friends. BUT, in the whole scheme of things, what did it COST us?
God calls us to care for the orphans. All of them. I can't pretend to think that I can take care of them all, though sometimes I would like to dream about how I could do that. But our family can do our part. We can show Jesus to these two little boys from Siberia through our lives and through our teaching. This is what we can do.
But as I reflect back on what was said in court...honestly, Timmy is a little boy who has a lot of medical needs. He needs to have a lot of medical tests done in the US. He needs to be cared for. Was this even possible in this orphanage in Minusinsk, Russia? I'm not sure it was. He spends each day gasping for air. His breathing is raspy at best. He lives with constant congestion. He does not know who he will see when he wakes up in the morning or who will put him down at night. He spends much of his day outside (because it is summer) in a fenced in area with about 20 other children on a dusty playground of sorts. They are doing the best they can, don't get me wrong. But what kind of existence is that?
So there we stood...ready to take him into our home with open arms. Ready to love him with all of our hearts. Ready to step up and do the hard stuff.
What choice did the court have? Well they could have said yes or they could have said no. Today I am thankful that they saw our hearts, saw his need, put them together and now we can call him our son. Praise God for working even in a Russian courtroom in Siberia. Amen!

I learn more each day, nearly, how God is working in the most remarkable places and circumstances. It is Humbling when He chooses to use YOU in His work, isn't it? We are so delighted to know He is using you in the lives of these two little boys. He is using dozens of people, actually, and one day it will be hundreds, just in their lives. Makes me think of the song "thank you"........Thank you both for following the Lord's leading..............
