Moscow, plane ride, everything's new!

We spent our last day in Krasnoyarsk at the hotel and then with Iris and the boys eating at Subway and in the Krasnoyarsk Central Park. It was a good day. We were able to be packed up and mostly ready by the time Iris came to get us. I was glad we had a chance to visit with her one last time. It is so hard not knowing when we will see our friends again!

Both Subway and the park were fun for the boys. There was an indoor playground at Subway and Timmy spent most of his time throwing the balls out. :) Gregg spent most of his time telling Timmy to pick up the balls, which he did joyfully. ha ha Central Park was fun too. We rode a train around the grounds. I think Benjamin loved it. He loves trains. Timmy, well, he fell asleep. He pretty much falls asleep at the drop of a hat. Anytime he's in the car...anytime he's snuggled...he's a sleeper much like our Jaime...although she doesn't let me snuggle her near as much anymore now that she's 17! We bid Iris and the boys farewell until next time we see them...

We went back to the hotel just in time to get caught in a huge rainstorm. It lasted until about the time for us to unload at the airport and then the sun popped out for us! The boys had a good nap before we left because we knew with our flight leaving at 9 pm, they would be really tired. Benjamin never really woke up from his nap, slept in the car on the way to the airport, in Lidia's arms (our coordinator) until we were ready to go through security. He then slept on the plane and on the car ride to the apartment in Moscow and THEN...he was awake until 4 am! Yeah, he's jetlagging BIG time!

As far as the plane ride, Timmy was a trooper! Benjamin was such a good traveler that we figured Timmy would be our hard one. But he surprised us both. He loved being in my arms from time to time and even was giving me KISSES! So sweet! Benjamin and Timmy played together doing stickers in sticker books, playing with dinosaurs, etc. They only got in trouble when they played the "Papa game". Let's yell between the crack of the seat to Daddy who was sitting BY HIMSELF in the row behind (how did that happen???) and kept yelling in high pitched tones, "PAPA!!" Oh my it was one of those moments that was hysterical that you better not laugh at!

We got to Moscow at 10 pm local time (2 am Krasnoyarsk time) and went straight to bed! (except for me and Benjamin that is...)

This morning we had to be ready at 8:15 so you can imagine that was a bit rough. But we left for the embassy doctor appointment on time and Timmy was seen by Dr. Boris who also saw Benjamin. He examined him and confirmed some of the things we have known all along medically and didn't talk about some of them. I wasn't really concerned. It's a formality. He commented that we're going to have to fight the girls off at our house because we have two handsome boys! We agree!

We had a surprise guest this afternoon! Tim Loomans had a layover in Moscow this afternoon so he took a public transportation out to our apartment to see us! We had a nice visit and he got to see the boys which was fun. Tim is Timmy's namesake. :) (along with Jaime for the James part!) Then he took a nap as he was also jetlagging. Seems to be a theme in this apartment! ha ha

We ended up skyping a little bit and catching up on emails the rest of the day and had dinner at Chile's thinking it would be a taste of American. lol Yeah, not so much. We asked for cheese on Benjamin's $7 kid's meal hamburger. They brought a stale hamburger bun with a slice of cheese on it. Whatever...we paid the $40 and left.

Now everyone is asleep but me. I'm up doing laundry (with no dryer...arggg) and blogging!

US Embassy appointment is in the morning at 11:30. We will leave at 10:45 am. Looking forward to that. It was a highlight last time. It's just so cheery and friendly! Since we haven't been here for a month like we were last adoption, I am guessing it won't have the same effect, but still happy to get that done so Timmy can enter the country!

On another note, our apartment is awesome. If anyone is looking for housing in Moscow, Peace Travel has a great deal! We are paying $185 a night (much less than hotels) and have a wonderful apartment with free wifi, international calls and a great setup for the four of us. Benjamin and Timmy are sharing a bed, but since last night they had their own spots and ended up together, I figure they appreciate not being separate tonight. Last time I checked on them, they were both asleep and B had his arm around T. :) They really do seem to love each other.

On the bonding front, I think Timmy will have no trouble with me. He is really showing preference to me though. Benjamin didn't really do that. He had his first accident in his diaper today. Up until this point he had been completely potty trained but wearing diapers just in case. Today we found out why we need to keep it that way. lol When I went to change his diaper, he looked terrified. He looked as if I might hit him. Since then, he has been VERY attached to me. I love that boy!

Well I should hit the sack. It's 11:30 pm and we have the appointment tomorrow! And who knows who will wake up in the middle of the night tonight! ha ha Night all!
